Tjena!

Thatcher Vs Acid House
BASSLINE. Margaret Thatcher died this monday, aged 87. I guess that it will be a long time before her legacy is sorted out in the UK. A lot of people hated her, and I guess a lot of people must have liked her – in the 80s at least – since she was reelected as PM three times.
Love her or hate her, at least one thing is certain, she left no stone unturned and didn't back away from political fights.
Thatcher was in no way a fan of the two past-times that have formed the identity of a lot of the 80's children – in the UK as well as here in Sweden – namely electronic music and football. So of course she took the fight to these areas as well.
Vice has a good piece about Thatchers fight against acid house that you ought to read. It's beautifully illustrated with pictures by Gavin Watson.
I remember reading that her all time favorite tune was "how much is that doggie in the window" and well, I guess with that as the soundtrack of your life the electronic music revolution might have sounded a little rough.
Luckily enough she didn't win all her fights. Music and culture will always thrive, under even the harshest conditions.

Happy 40th Pharell
BASSLINE. This is the first thing I remember hearing by Pharell and N.E.R.D. The man that put the trucker cap back in style has been going on strong ever since. Happy 40th! Keep inspiring.

Royal T – Eski Mix
BASSLINE. Southampton based producer Royal T and Rinse FM treat listeners with a journey back to the early days of grime in this aptly named "eski mix".
To the people that listened to grime back then, before it was even called grime, the mix will definitely shake loose a couple of great memories and put a big smile on your face.
To everyone else, enjoy this little music history lesson and some great tunes that are bound to get your booty shaking.
Listen or download from here.
When done listening to the "Eski Mix" why not head over here for the Sidewinder mix by DJ Slimzee featuring Dizzee Rascal and Wiley.
Daft Punk – The Creators Project – Giorgio Moroder
BASSLINE. As we slowly make our way toward the release of "Random Access Memories" the hype surrounding the album just keeps on growing.
To keep us interested Daft Punk has teamed up with The Creators Project to give a bit of information about the collaborators on their upcoming album. First out is music producer Giorgio Moroder, he tells us a bit about himself, and a bit about working with Daft Punk.
Just go ahead and watch the video already! Well worth your time.
Catequesis
GAMERS CORNER. If you clearly remember playing "Zelda A Link To The Past" and "Final Fantasy 6" on the SNES, well, I guess you're kinda old now – like me.
If your remember playing the original Zelda- and Final Fantasy-titles on the NES, well, I guess you're really old – just like me.
Catequesis is a in development game, by Pakarico and Curved Cat, and it looks like the guys behind it remember the good old gaming days as dearly as I do.
The game is a "survival horror story" and judging by the trailer it will be absolutely gorgeous. Catequesis is blessed with that 8-bit aesthetic some of us just can't seem to forget.
Also, the soundtrack is like honey to my ears. Can't wait to play this!
